ضربت العاصفة دانيال شرق ليبيا في سبتمبر سنة ٢٠٢٣، وسقطت أمطارٌ غزيرةٌ جدًّا. وفي ليلة العاشر إلى الحادي عشر من سبتمبر انهار سدّان قرب مدينة درنة، فدخلت المياه المدينة وجرفت أحياءً كاملةً إلى البحر. ومات آلاف النّاس، وفقد كثيرون بيوتهم. ووصلت مساعداتٌ من دولٍ عربيّةٍ وأجنبيّةٍ.
