بدأ مترو الرّياض استقبال الرّكّاب في ديسمبر سنة ٢٠٢٤، بعد سنواتٍ من العمل. ويتكوّن المشروع من ستّة خطوطٍ تصل بين أحياء العاصمة السّعوديّة والمطار والجامعات. والقطارات تعمل بلا سائقٍ. وتأمل الحكومة أن يستعمل النّاس النّقل العامّ بدلًا من السّيّارات، فتقلّ الزّحمة في الشّوارع.
